The Love of God

Sermon clip preached by Karl Gilliham

In Matthew 27:39, it tells us about they that passed by the Lord Jesus Christ when He hung on the cross, who blasphemed Him and shaking their heads. Then in v. 40 LITV, it tells us that they said, and saying, You destroying the Holy Place and building it in three days, if you are the Son of God, come down from the cross.

Notice the people refer to what Jesus said in John 2:19 LITV, The Lord Jesus said to the Jews, Jesus said to them, Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up. In the next verse, the Jews thought Jesus meant the sanctuary built with hands, but v. 21 tells us that Jesus meant the sanctuary of His body. The Lord Jesus was speaking about His death, burial and resurrection.

When we go back to Matthew 27:40, we witness the very prophecy that the Lord Jesus spoke about Himself in John 2:19 was being fulfilled before the very eyes of those who mocked Him for saying,
Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up.  The people mocked Him with the thought of, If He says He can do that, then He should easily be able to come down from there. But while sinners spoke evil against the Lord Jesus and mocked Him, the Lord Jesus Christ was dying for every sinner that will put their faith in Him

Then they said in v. 40 LITV, if you are the Son of God, come down from the cross. When they said, "the Son of God", who Jesus said He is, they knew Jesus was saying that He is equal to the Father, which meant He was saying He is God. Again, the people mocked Him. But because Jesus is the Son of God, He stayed on that cross. They mocked Him by saying,
if you are the Son of God, come down from the cross., but the reason He stayed on that cross was because He is the Son of God.  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 LITV)

There is no greater gift than the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the greatest gift one can ever receive, the One who died on the cross for them who will put their faith in Him, and was buried, and rose again on the third day. The Bible says in 1Cor. 15:3-4 LITV, For I delivered to you in the first place what I also received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day, according to the Scriptures.

There is only one way for salvation, and His Name is Jesus. The Lord Jesus said in John 14:6 LITV, Jesus said to him, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

A person is not saved by works, but by the grace of God. The Word of God says in Ephesians 2:8-9 LITV, For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not of works, that not anyone should boast;

Stop trusting in your own works to get to heaven, for you will come up short, for the Bible says in Romans 3:23 LITV, for all sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but come to repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. The Bible says in Acts 20:21 LITV, earnestly testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone to save you by His death, burial and resurrection, and the Bible says you will be saved. The Bible says in John 3:16 LITV,  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Lord Jesus Christ Divides!

It is amazing to hear when people who clearly do not know the Lord Jesus Christ speak about Him like they do know Him. For example, there will be people who believe that Jesus came to this earth to unite everybody to be one big happy family (regardless of their belief), and to love (what the world calls 'love'), because we are all God's children. This is foreign to the Bible. Nowhere in holy scripture will you ever find such liberal doctrine.

What did Jesus say when He was on this earth? Jesus said, 'Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.' Matthew 10:34kjv- What does Jesus mean? Jesus does not mean a physical sword, but speaks about division. Jesus did not come to the earth to unite everybody to be one big happy family (regardless of their belief) and have worldy peace, but to seperate those who are 'His sheep', from those who are not His sheep. He came to divide believers from the unbelievers. Jesus Himself divides the people of God (believers), from the people of this world (unbelievers) ~Luke 12:51.

The Bible does not teach that all people are God's children. The Bible teaches we are all created by God, but we are not all God's children. The Bible says about believers in the Lord Jesus, 'But as many as received him, to them have he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12kjv- but the Bible also speaks about those who do not receive Him, and believe not on His name, For Jesus said to the Jews, 'Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do'. John 8:44a.

Worldly love has no room for godly judgment against sin (sin which has been accepted by this world). But the Lord Jesus said, 'And this is the condemnation, that the light is come into the world, and men love darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.' John 3:19-21kjv.

This is the reason many people form (mould) their own Jesus (false Jesus) to fit their evil deeds. They have a Jesus that has no problem with their dark evil deeds (which the Bible calls sin)- this makes them feel more comfortable. They mould their own Jesus who has a worldy love, and accepts what the world accepts as good. This is not the Jesus of the Bible. The Lord Jesus loves righteousness, and hates iniquity.

So as we have seen from scripture, Jesus did not come to bring everybody together as one big happy family (regardless what they believe), but came to make the elect (the believers) one big happy family in Him, to become sons of God,  to love righteousness and to hate iniquity, and one day be with Him in heaven.

More Apologetics! JW's Caught

Here we will see the JW's translators getting caught by their own method of translating the scriptures~ We will look at John 20:28, but we need to first look at John 1:1-

In John 1:1~3, the KJV reads, 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. (It is always important to take verses in their context~)

You notice in verse 3, the Bible says, 'All things (all creation) were made by him (the Word); and without him (the Word) was not anything made that was made. Who is the Word? John 1:14a, 'And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us'~ Who was made flesh and dwelt among us? The Lord Jesus Christ. There is no doubt that Jesus Christ is the Word, and Jesus Christ who is the Word, created all things, and nothing was created without Him~ What does this mean? The Lord Jesus Christ is the Creator all things (Jehovah God), just like Paul the apostle writes in Colossians 1:16~  Now, keep this in mind as we go to the Greek for John 1:1.

When we go to the Greek for John 1:1, the Greek says (NL 27, TR and WH), En (In) arche (beginning) en (was) ho (the) logos (Word), kai (and) ho (the) logos (Word) en (was) pros (with) ton (the) Theon (God) kai (and) Theos (God) en (was) ho (the) logos (Word). The JW's will say, 'Look, when it speaks of the Lord Jesus Christ, 'kai Theos en ho logos', there is no definite article, like there is before kai ho logos en pros ton (the) Theon (God)....

Important to understand, the article in the Greek is not used in the exact same way as in English, but the JW's will say because there is no (definite) article before Theos, which refers to the Lord Jesus, so it should be translated 'a god' instead of 'God'.

The New World Translation says, 'and the Word was a god'~ Their method of translating the scriptures is that if there is no article before Theos (God), then it refers to 'a god', and if it has an article before Theos (God), then it refers to 'Jehovah God'. But as we have seen in the context of John 1:1-3, there is no way you can translate it like the JW's translators have, because we have seen that the Word is the Creator of all things, so the only way it can be translated is, 'and the Word was God' not 'a god'. Remember, it doesn't have to have an article always to refer to the true God (we will look at that soon).

But let us use the method the JW's will use based on John 1:1, and see what we come up with. Remember, if it has an article, then it means '[the] God', and if it has no article, it means 'a god' according to the JW's method. Let us go to John 20:28, and have some fun.

The Greek says in John 20:28 (NL 27, WH), 'apekrithe (answered) Thomas (Thomas) kai (and) eipen (said) auto (to him) ho (the) kurios (Lord) mou (of me or my) kai (and) ho (the) Theos (God) mou (of me or my) ~ (in the TR), kai (and) apekrithe (answered) ho (the) Thomas (Thomas) and the same after as the NL 27 and WH. This is the time when Thomas sees the Lord Jesus after His Resurrection, and says to Him, 'My Lord and my God (KJV)'. Now this gets interesting~ When we go to the Greek, what do we notice? We notice an article before Theos, when Thomas call Jesus 'my God'~ Now remember, by the JW's witnesses method, an article means and refers to ' Jehovah God'.

In the NWT, they do translate it as, 'In answer Thomas said to him [Jesus] "My Lord and my God!", but their meaning behind their translation is not what it seems~ How desperate can you get when your cult is on the line? Answer~ You can get very desperate when you need to keep together your false doctrines. They know they have been caught out by their own method, so they have come up with at least two explanations (what I know of) to explain it away.

One explanation JW's have used~ When Thomas realized it was the Lord Jesus, Thomas by his shock, swore (blasphemed), and said, 'My Lord and my God.' Again, desperation kicks in, but let us just go with that for the moment~ If Thomas had just  (swore) blasphemed when he realized it was the Lord Jesus Christ risen from the dead, what would have been Jesus' response to him? The Lord Jesus would have rebuked him for his sinful action (blasphemy), but Jesus in the next verse does the complete opposite~ Notice after Thomas said, 'my God',  the Lord in v. 29 does not rebuke him, but Jesus says, ' because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.'

Another explanation JW's have used~ When Thomas said, 'my God' he doesn't mean Jesus is Jehovah God (the God), but when Thomas said 'my God' he referred to Jesus as his God (a god), even though in the Greek there is an article before Theos~ They can simply look passed the fact that the verse actually says in the Greek (ho Theos), which by their method, refers to Jehovah God,  and still say, 'a god.'

There is no question in  John 20:28, the Lord Jesus is called Yahweh (Jehovah God), the Creator of heaven and earth, the eternal God, and was worshipped by Thomas, and Jesus accepted his worship.

~just to add, there are places in the NWT, that they have translated as (Jehovah) God, when there is no article before Theos; they include John 1:6 and John 8:54. Again they are caught by their own method. If they were to be consistent with their method, they should have translated John 1:6 and John 8:54 as 'a god', like John 1:1, but for them to do that, their system would simply collapse. Their cult would collapse if they translated John 1:1 as God (Jehovah), because that would go against their satanic doctrine about Jesus being created, or if they translated John 1:6 or John 8:54 as 'a god', they would then reduce Jehovah God to 'a god'~

If you are a JW's then wake up, and leave your false cult, and come to the Word, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is Yahweh (Jehovah God) John 1:1 & John 20:28, and be saved.

More Apologetics! Naughty JW's Translators!

In the New World Translation, which is the official jehovah's witnesses' bible, the translators have been very naughty, and added a word in Colossians 1:16-17, and changed the Word of God. They have lowered the Lord Jesus to a mere creation. This is sinful and unacceptable~

In the NWT, it reads, 'because by means of him were all [other] things were created.' In the Greek, the word 'other' is nowhere to be found in v. 16-17.  Let us look at the opening part  of v. 16- In the Greek (TR), it reads, 'oti en auto ektisthe ta panta.....' (TR) which means, 'oti (for) en (by) auto (Him) ektisthe (were created) ta (the) panta (all things).....'  or, oti en auto ektisthe ta panta (Nestle Aland 27)~ simply translated in English, 'For by Him were all things created.'

When we go to the last part of v.16, the NWT says, 'All [other] things have been created through him, and for him. Notice they have added the word 'other' again. In the Greek (TR) it says, 'ta (the) panta (all things) di (by or through) autou (him) kai (and) eis (for) auton (him) ektistai (were or have been created)', or (Nestle Aland 27), ta (the) panta (all things) di' (by or through) autou (him) kai (and) eis (for) auton (him) ektistai (were or have been created)~ simply translated in English, 'all things were (or have been) created by Him and for Him. Even in the WH Greek, there is no word 'other'. The word 'other' is nowhere to be found in v. 16-17 in the Greek.

It is very clear in the Word of God, in v.16-17, Jesus is Almighty God, the Creator of heaven and earth (Gen. 1:1). There is no doubt at all what Paul the apostle wrote. But the problem for the JW's is if they translated what the Greek actually says, they would destroy their false doctrine about the Lord Jesus, and they simply can not allow that to happen, so they added a word to the Word of God, the word 'other', so they can continue to promote the lie that Jesus is not God, and have many people deceived.

If you are a jehovah witness, you need to realize you are not following the Jesus of the Bible~ The Jesus of the Bible created all things- He Himself was not created, but He Himself created all things, and only in Him, can you have salvation.

Hell is real!

As a preacher and teacher of the Word of God, I have preached about Hell. You have to if you are going to preach the whole counsel of God. The Lord Jesus spoke about Hell more than any other in the Bible.

Hell is a reality, and that reality needs to be preached. One preacher said, "Hell is a place at the end of a Christ-less life." Hell is not a respecter of persons! It doesn't matter if a person is rich or poor, famous, a president, royalty, homeless, or any other, without Christ, hell is waiting.

The Bible says, 'All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.' (Romans 3:23) ~ God requires perfection because He is a Holy God! (Isaiah 6:3 & Revelation 4:8) And with every heart beat, a person without Christ is closer and closer to their date with Jesus in court (Hebrews 9:27), when He will judge them by their works and they will be found guilty for breaking His Law, and worst of all, rejecting Him, the One Who showed such Love on the Cross for sinners, and they will not be found in the Book of Life, and will be cast into God's eternal prison (the Lake of Fire), as guilty people (Revelation 20:11-15).

But God by His mercy and grace has provided One Way for us to settle out of court before our date in court comes (the final judgment), and His Name is Jesus (John 3:16). Only Jesus has the standard for heaven, and only Him (Acts 4:12).

God sent His Eternal Son from heaven, the Lord Jesus Christ (who is God), to take on humanity, and He lived a perfect life (He never sinned) Hebrew 4:15, and went to the Cross, and suffered, bled and died for sinners to pay their sin debt in full (1Corinthians 15). The One who we have sinned against, was the One who came down to this earth to die for sinners, to pay that debt in full. God is a Holy Judge, and sin can not be overlooked. He has to judge. We can not offer anything to God for our sin because we are have already broken His Law, and our works are as filthy rags in His sight [Isaiah 64:6] (He demands perfection), and He does not take filthy bribes from us.

After Jesus was crucified on the cross, and died, He was buried, and on the third day He rose again! He is ALIVE!. He has conquered sin, death, and the grave, and defeated Satan. Jesus is the Way for a person to settle out of court (John 14:6); to receive a pardon. When a person repents (change of mind and heart) and put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to save them by His death, burial, and resurrection, they receive the forgiveness of sins by the blood of Jesus (Ephesians 1:7). Not only that, when a person believes on the Lord Jesus, they receive Jesus' righteousness onto their account (Romans 3:22). It is like you lived the Life of Jesus Christ. You are clothed in His righteousness. You are saved for all eternity. So when God looks upon a believer, He sees Jesus' righteousness, and now you can enter heaven.

Why don't you settle out of court (if you haven't settle out of court), and come to the most precious gift of all, the Lord Jesus Christ, and receive Life from Him.

Open Theism is heresy!

What is Open Theism? Open Theism says that God knows the past perfectly, the present perfectly, but He does not know the future perfectly, as the future has not happened as yet.

To try and back up their claim, they will go to the time when God tested Abraham, and said to him, 'For now I know that thou fearest God.' (Gen. 22:12) saying that God did not know before ~ But surely God would have known Abraham's heart when he came up the mountain with his son, Isaac ~ that would have been in the past when God said, 'For now I know that thou fearest God,'

The problem with Open Theist is that they expose themselves by their own method of interpretation. Let me shed some light on this: In the book of Genesis 3:9, we will see by their own method of hermeneutics, what kind of God they present (and it will contradict their own teachings)

When Adam and Eve sinned against God in the Garden of Eden, they hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden because they heard the voice of the LORD walking in the Garden in the cool of the day (Gen. 3:8).

In the next verse, God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where are thou? ~ But notice that God asked Adam 'Where are you?' ~ This is in the present not the future. So when you use the Open Theist method of interpretation, God does not know the present.

Then Adam said to God he heard His voice in the Garden, and was afraid because he knew he was naked, and hid himself (Gen 3:10) ~ Then God asked Adam, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? Notice again, this is not a future event, but a past event. Again, when you use the Open Theist method of interpretation, God does not know the past.  And furthermore,  God is not Omnipresent, but limited.

So when you bring all this together with the Open Theist method of interpretation (like they would for Gen. 22:12) in Genesis 3, God does not know perfectly the past events, God does not know perfectly the present events, and God does not know perfectly the future events. Futhermore,  God is not Omnipresent. This is not the God of the Bible.

So to claim that Genesis 22:12 means that God did not know the future perfectly is utter nonsense. The God of the Bible is Omnipresent (All present), Omnipotent (All powerful), and Omniscient (All knowing) ~ He knows the beginning to the end ~ He is the first and the last (Isa. 44:6)

The Bible is the Inspired Word of God

The Bible is the inspired Word of God (2Tim. 3:16; 2Peter 1:20). God used at least 40 different people, over a period of around 1600 years from Genesis to Revelation, from different backgrounds, different places and different times, to write down His Words. The Bible from the book of Genesis to the last book, the book of Revelation, unifies in its message.

The word in the Greek is "Theopneustos" in 2Tim. 3:16, and means divinely breathed (God breathed). The Bible is literally the breath of God.

Because the Bible is God breathed (the Word of God), we can be sure the Bible is truth. God is truth (John 4:16 & Deu. 32:4), and God cannot lie (Numbers 23:19)~ and because God is truth, God can never inspire error, but He can only inspire truth. This means the Bible is inerrant and infallible. The Bible contains no errors, and the Bible can not deceive you nor lead you into error. The Bible can only lead you into His truth because God's Word is truth (John 17:17). The Bible is the only Book of its kind.

God is Omnipotent and Omniscient!

God prophecied about the crucifixion a 1000 years before Christ came, and before crucifixion was ever used. In the book of Psalms 22:16kjv, the Bible says, "For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. The Lord said, "they have pierced my hands and my feet", which clearly speaks of the crucifixion of Christ.

The Lord Jesus said to His disciple after His resurrection, "Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have (Luke 24:39kjv)

When we continue in Psalm 22, v.18, the Bible says, "They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture."

In John 19:23-24, the Bible says, "Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did (John 19:23-24kjv) ~ This is clearly a fulfillment of the prophecy in Psalm 22:18.

It is very clear that Psalm 22:16, "They pierced my hands and my feet", refers to the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ, and Psalm 22:18, "They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture", refers to Christ also. They go together. These prophecies have been fulfiiled in the Lord Jesus (who is the Christ).

Only the true God (the God of the Bible) can give a prophecy a thousand years before (and before crucifixion was ever used), and then fulfill this prophecy perfectly.

More Apologetics! The Mormons

Their prophet Joseph Smith said he saw the person of The Father and Jesus. Let us test that with what Paul the apostle and even with what our Precious Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ said.

The Bible says in 1Timothy 6:16kjv, Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. Paul says that no man can approach the inexpressible glory of God, nor has, nor can. This talks about the holiness of God. If a man physically looked upon God in His full glory with his eyes on this earth that man would simply die where he stood. The LORD says to Moses in Exodus 33:20kjv, And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

There is one exception ~ The Lord Jesus (The perfect God-man). The Lord Jesus testified He has seen the Father (John 6:46kjv). No other man has nor can.

So considering what we have seen from holy scripture that Jesus is the only one who has seen the Father, and Paul says no man (except Christ) can see the Father, how did Joseph Smith? How did Joseph Smith look upon His face and live? Simple ~ Joseph Smith did NOT see the Father nor did he see Jesus.

More Apologetics! Jehovah's Witnesses

At the transfiguration, three disciples of the Lord Jesus witnessed Moses and Elijah talking to Jesus. The Father spoke, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." (Matthew 17:5kjv) The word "hear" in the Greek is "akouo" but here "akouete" ~ It is a command to be done repeatedly or continuously "keep on doing it!" So whatever generation a person lives in, they are to hear the Lord Jesus. The word "akouo" means to hear, to hearken. All men should listen (genuinely) to Him.

The Jehovah's Witnesses believe ●Jesus is not God ●Jesus did not have a bodily resurrection

Let us test their claims with what Jesus says in the Bible. In the book of John 2:19-22, the Lord Jesus speaks to the Jews about His death, burial and resurrection. In v. 19kjv, Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Notice Jesus is the One who said these to them. The Lord speaks of a temple (destroy this temple), and a time period of three days, and a resurrection. The Jews in the next verse thought He meant the temple building, but John clarifies what Jesus meant in v. 21 -22kjv~ John writes, "But he spake of the temple of his body."

●First, The temple refers to the body of the Lord Jesus ~ Let us continue into v. 22kjv, When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

●Next, the three days refer to His burial, and in three days I will raise it up speaks of His resurrection from the dead. (Clearly the Bible teaches this). The disciples understood after these things had taken place, Jesus had prophesied about them and they believed.

The Bible clearly teaches that God raised Jesus from the dead (Acts 3:15). Only God has the power to raise a man from the dead. Let us go back to John 2:19-22.

In v.19kjv, Jesus said, "I will raise it (Note: which means a temple) up in three days." Raise what temple? - Again in v. 21, But he spake of the temple of his body. Jesus said He will raise Himself (His own body) up from the dead. What does that mean? ●God raised Jesus (Acts 3:15) and Jesus raised Himself (John 2:19-22) = Jesus is Almighty God. Jesus proclaims He is God in John 2:19-22.

Next, we also notice from the same text that it is a bodily resurrection, not a spiritual resurrection nor was the body taken away by God the Father (like Jehovah's Witnesses believe). Jesus said in three days He would raise His body from the dead. Another verse (after the resurrection), Jesus said, Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have (Luke 24:39kjv)

The Bible teaches ● Jesus is God ● Jesus rose a bodily resurrection, the opposite to what Jehovah's Witnesses believe.

This concludes that Jehovah's Witnesses do not hear (hearken) the Lord Jesus like the Father commands in Matthew 17:5, 1. Jesus says He is Almighty God, but they do not believe Him, they believe He is a created being (an angel) who became a man, 2. Jesus said He had a bodily resurrection, but again, they do not believe Him, they believe He had a spiritual resurrection, and the Father took His body. Simply, The Jesus they believe in is not the Jesus of the Bible.

More Apologetics! The Mormons 2

In Doctrine and Covenants 130:22 (supposed revelations given to Joseph Smith), The father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man‘s, the son also. It is clear that a distinction between the body of the Father‘s, and the body of Jesus is made. Let us test this with what the Bible proclaims.

In this time we will look at the Father because the Bible clearly teaches the incarnation of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ who has been Fully God for all eternity (as Spirit) took on humanity (man), and walked among this darkened world. He had two natures, fully God and fully man, but still one person, the one person of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says in John 1:14a kjv, And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us ~

When it comes to the Father, the Bible never talks about the Father having or taking on a human nature or a body like man. If the Father has never had a human nature or a body like man, then He must only be Spirit because Jesus said in John 4:24kjv, God is a Spirit (made clear by the Lord that God is a Spirit) and in Luke 24:39kjv, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have (speaking about Christ's human nature).

To add to what has been said already, the Bible says that God was never created because He is the Creator and eternal (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 24:1; Isaiah 37:16; Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalm 90:2; 1Timothy 1:17).

God says He is the only God and there were no other gods before Him and none after Him (Isaiah 44:6; Isaiah 43:10).

These scriptures expose another false Joseph Smith doctrine that the Father was just a man like we are, before he became a god, and that we have the potential of becoming a god, like Him.

Joseph Smith's doctrine of  "The Father has a body" is heresy and he lowers God to a created man like us who became a god of many gods, and the potential for us to do the same.

The Bible teaches the God of the Bible is the Eternal, Sovereign, All powerful, All knowing, Omnipresent, Creator, One and Only God (always and forever) who is Spirit.
